Hi, I’m Reeve. I am a singer-songwriter from Charlotte who started attending Lake Forest Church in late 2007. I grew up in a Christian family, went to church, went to Christian school, played Christian sports (whatever that is), and memorized countless bible verses and catechism. Yet, somehow I still ended up running from God and found myself leading worship hungover from the night before. My mom even came to me and said I should stop singing in church because I was being a hypocrite…so…I just quit church all together. But through the grace of God and the help of many LFC staff and ministry partners I rededicated my life to Christ (sorry for the Christianese). I wanted to make sure that the next time I sang at church is was with the right intentions, so I attended LFC regularly for about a year before joining the vocal team. In March of 2009 I became a ministry partner and also took on the job of Vocal Director. I feel so blessed to have found this place and to have the opportunity to sing with and lead such wonderful and talented people.When I’m not at church I am either playing music, writing music, or recording music. I am in the process of working on my first full-length record which will be finished…well…when it’s finished
I am also a registered Music Together teacher and teach for Music Together of Charlotte…and that folks, is how I pay the rent. In my past life I was in the all-gal band, The Near Misses. We toured for four years all over the southeast and released a CD called “Marigold” which you can purchase on iTunes or CDbaby.
I love sad songs, dissonant harmony, lap steel, conversations that last all night, stupid jokes, Douglas Coupland books, Charlie Kaufman movies, taking my socks off in bed, good kids music, making things out of yarn, and Paul Rudd.
