About the role of Elder at Lake Forest Church
At Lake Forest, it is the responsibility of the Elders to govern the church and oversee the spiritual welfare of the congregation. All Ruling Elders are nominated and confirmed by Ministry Partners after examination by the Elder Nominating Committee (ENC).
On May 30, 2010, LFC Ministry Partners affirmed the the nominations of four candidates to serve on our Elder Nomination Committee (ENC). These individuals - Teresa Dillard, Paul Eklund, Matt Gallagher and Russell Justice - along with Elders Rusty Andrews and Algie Grubbs, will serve the LFC body by leading our process of nominating one to four qualified Elder candidates to serve for three years on our senior leadership team called The Session.
Ministry Partners, it is now time for you to recommend candidates for Elders. If you wish to recommend someone please take the following steps:
1. Read Ruling Elder Expectations.
2. Pray about your recommendation and for the person whom you might recommend.
3. Speak directly with someone you would like to recommend.
4. If you wish to recommend a man or woman (and your candidate agrees) - please contact any Elder Nominating Committee member OR send an email to enc@lakeforest.org.
