Community Group Leaders
Before you can manage your group, you will need to create an LFC account. Have questions about how to do this? No problem, read this page.

What is a Community Group?
A Community Group is a smaller group of people that come together for the main purpose of developing their relationships (discipleship) with Christ. It’s like a small family centered on encouraging each other to grow.
A healthy Community Group is one that builds good friendships (often around food and fun) and these relationships enable them to study the Bible together and then live out the things they learn. It’s a safe place to ask all the questions you want to about the Bible, life, and any issues you are facing.
Why Does Lake Forest Do Community Groups?
We believe that this is the place where significant life transformation occurs, where real life and real issues are discussed. This is the environment where we celebrate the successes and good times of life, as well as comfort one another during the tough and disappointing times. It is a place to be encouraged, equipped, and challenged to become a mature follower of Jesus Christ.
When/Where Do Community Groups Meet?
Each community group decides when and where it wants to meet. We can help you find groups that are meeting on a particular night or in a certain geographic area and connect you with them. Most groups meet in the intimacy of someone’s home and some groups meet in public places like coffee shops or book stores.
How Long Does A Community Group Last?
A group can meet for as short a time as 18-24 months. Many of our groups have been meeting for 3 years or more. The length of time that your group meets together is decided by your group. Most groups re-evaluate where they are as a group on a regular basis.
Who Will Help Me Get Into a Community Group?
Mark Denning is our Community Group Developer. The recommended way to get into a community group is to go through our Welcome 101 Orientation. At the end of the 5 week session we form new community groups. You may also let Mark know where you live, and what days of the week would work best for you and he will work to match you with an existing group. Mitch White and Mark will work together to develop the leaders of each community group and provide them with encouragement and support. Contact Mark at mdenning@lakeforest.org or Mitch at mwhite@lakeforest.org.
