My husband, John, and I moved here from Pella, IA in November 2003 and have been Ministry Partners at Lake Forest since spring of 2004. We have two grown boys, Jeffrey who lives in Kansas City, and Jordan who is working with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship currently at Central College in Iowa. John and I have been married for 33 years and are enjoying this new phase of our lives! Traveling with John is my favorite thing, but I also love really dark chocolate and good coffee, preferably enjoyed in the company of friends.

My role at LFC is to work with Mitch White on the Spiritual Formation team with primary responsibilities in Connections Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and Growth Environments. I love seeing passion and gifts awakened and the joy and fruitfulness that it brings. I love empowering others to use their God-given gifts to live out their purpose in Christ, creating environments where we can encourage one another in the practices that grow us in our Christ-walk, and the life change that happens when we really “get” how much God loves us and wants to include us in His mission of love to the world.

I am glad to be a part of LF. My husband Matt and I have been attending here since 2001. My family has lived here since 1987-before there was anything here! I graduated high school in Charlotte and attended Liberty University in VA-go Flames! That is where I met Matt and he fell madly in love with me…and I fell for him too. We now have 2 kiddos- Berea and Benjamin. We have loved being a part of the church and met some really awesome people along the way.

My heart for ministry comes from how God has amazed me with His Word. I have been a Christ follower for as long as I can remember but not until I began to see His Word as living, active and relevant to now did my walk become transformed. I knew it was all about a relationship with Christ but I was amazed at how personal He is and how He desires me for me. His Word has been what has revolutionized me and my heart now is to help others be amazed by it and its author. I can not get enough of being with the women of LF and hearing them share how God has met them right where they are. To hear some one share their amazement when they discover something in God’s Word is my heartbeat. It is not a high and lofty experience reserved for only some. Instead, it is for anyone that seeks after Him. Our God is so amazing. What a privilege to know Him.

I grew up in Charlotte and I have loved calling Huntersville “home” since 1994. I met my husband, Jeff, when I was a senior at Independence High School (Go Patriots!) and we did the long-distance dating thing while I attended NC State University (Go Pack!). Jeff and I had the honor of helping to plant Lake Forest Church 10 years ago and it has been a wild ride watching growth happen. We have three energetic boys (Bradley, Hunter, and Jackson) who love soccer and keep us running to and from soccer fields all over town. I enjoy music, movies, science and technology.
I see my role on the team as the resident “techie.” As an engineer-turned-stay at home mom, I like to make things work. My passion for serving and my interests in sound, video, and computers fit together to help make events happen without the machinery getting in the way of the ministry. My hope for the women who walk through the doors of Lake Forest is that they would make strong connections with other women and that they would know and understand God’s amazing love for them.

What a blessing it is to call LFC home! My husband, T.J., and I moved our family to Huntersville in the summer of 2005 from my hometown of Nashville, TN. T.J. grew up in the south Charlotte area and graduated from UVA. We met the summer before my senior year at Texas Christian University while we were both on staff at Young Life’s Frontier Ranch in Colorado.
I had always considered myself the type of person that was adventurous and willing to go wherever God called me, but the move to NC revealed that my TN roots were deeper than I thought. It was a rough transition as we hopped from church to church trying to find one that felt like “home.” After a nine month search, we attended LFC the first Easter Sunday in the “new” building and knew we were home and have been ministry partners ever since.
I am a stay-at-home mom to our two active boys (Daniel and Jonathan) that I have the joy and pleasure of homeschooling. One of my greatest joys is “connecting” and communicating with my sweet friends and meeting new ones. I love getting together with small pockets of women to drink coffee, see a movie, discuss a book and/or just laugh together! It is such a gift and a privilege to serve alongside the amazing women at Lake Forest.
