Special Events

Throughout the year events are planned with the purpose of providing the women at LFC ways of connecting with each other. All are safe places to invite your friends, meet some new faces or just opportunities to be encouraged. Some events include summer salad gatherings, Soul Refill, Spring Women’s Retreat, Inside Edition, old fashioned tea party’s, whitewater rafting trips, and more.

Cost and Registration

  • $80.00 - includes: 2 nights lodging, Rafting, Saturday breakfast and lunch, Sunday breakfast
  • A non-refundable $25 deposit is needed by July 15th. Full payment required by August 1st. Space is limited to 44 ladies, don’t delay!
  • Friday night dinner is on your own while traveling (Asheville is about halfway). Saturday dinner at River Rock Grill, an inexpensive “family restaurant” near the lodge (prepare to pay for your own meal).

Itinerary:

Friday evening: Arrive at the Falling Waters Lodge in Bryson City by 8 pm for campfire, s’mores, & “get-to-know-each-other” time.

Saturday
Breakfast in lodge kitchen Saturday morning (included)
Saturday 2 rafting options are available:

  1. Raft the Nantahala. This is the river we have done for the past 2 years. No experience is necessary. This river is fun with high-energy moments, but is not terribly challenging. Most ladies called it “just right”. The outpost is just across the street from the lodge. This trip leaves at 10:30am on Saturday and will return around 2pm. Lunch is included, upon return. More info on the Nantahala rafting adventure found here.
  2. Raft the Ocoee. Some ladies are seeking more of a thrill. For those willing to drive another hour to an hour & a half after breakfast Saturday morning, we will tackle the Ocoee River. With big, closely spaced rapids, the Ocoee is one of the most popular whitewater rivers in the nation. No other river in the East offers the degree of challenge, variety and consistent water flow that is found here. We must arrive at the Ocoee outpost by 11:30, where we will eat a provided lunch before setting out on the river. More info on the Ocoee Adventure found here.

Saturday evening we will gather back together for dinner at the River Rock Grill. It’s casual, good food (including a salad bar), kind of “country”, and only 3-4 miles from the lodge.
Campfire, s’mores, & fun again Saturday night

Sunday
Breakfast at the lodge Sunday morning. There is lovely hiking on the grounds, surrounding the lake. Depart for home at your leisure.
