Oasis Logo

OASIS:

  1. a fertile or green area in a desert or wasteland, made so by the presence of water
  2. something that provides refuge, relief, or pleasant contrast

Oasis groups are a great place to get to know other women, to get refreshed spiritually, to explore and grow in faith. They are a place to belong (no matter your age or stage of life); to believe (no matter where you are in your spiritual journey); and to become (all that God has created you to be!).

For more information about Oasis, contact Corinne Kologe at 704.948.3232 x236 or ckologe@lakeforest.org.

Tuesday Nights @ LFC, 7 - 9 pm

Stepping Up by Beth Moore - led by Jaye Soss.

This is an in-depth look at 15 Psalms. Just as a song or poem can express feelings of fear, doubt, hope, and joy, these 15 psalms model how we can voice our own petitions and praises to our God, who is always available and ready to hear us. Explore the major feasts of Israel and journey with Beth through Psalms 120-134 in this 7-session study.

2 Timothy: Precept Upon Precept Inductive Study by Kay Arthur - led by Amy Gallagher

Paul entrusted the Gospel to Timothy and others. Are you guarding the treasure of the Word that has been entrusted you by your life and your words? Join us for this study on discipleship.

Wednesday Nights, 6:30 - 8:30pm

A Woman’s Heart: God’s Dwelling Place by Beth Moore - led by Kathy Sweeney.

Discover the parallels of the Tabernacle’s building and your life as God’s chosen vessel. Come and experience this amazing journey as we learn who we are and what God really desires from us. [NOTE: this study meets at home of - Jennifer Hazlett – 17433 Glassfield Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078]

Thursday Mornings @ LFC, 9:15 - 11:30am

Childcare is provided on Thursday mornings.

Diapers, Pacifiers, and Other Holy Things, by Lorraine M. Pintus - led by Katie Slattery and Emily Reira

Through this study, we will see how God meets us and provides for us amidst the busyness of raising small children. Through fellowship and sharing we will see how God is with us in our everyday tasks. The last 15-20 minutes will be time to quietly read the next week’s chapter (2-3 pages) as well as have some time to meet with Him. This study provides opportunities for further extension of the chapter but will not be required.

Lord, I want to Know You – A Devotional Study of the Names of God by Kay Arthur - led by Corinne Kologe

So much of our confusion and pain results because we don’t know God – who He really is, how He works in our lives. When you know God more fully by studying His Names, you’ll find strength for times of trial, comfort for pain, and provision for your soul’s deepest needs. Your walk with God will be transformed!

Changes That Heal, by Henry Cloud - led by Susan Richards and Karen Murdock

Dr. Henry Cloud, a renowned clinical psychologist, combines his expertise, well-developed faith, and keen understanding of human nature to show you how to: bond with others to form truly intimate relationships, separate from others and develop a sense of self, understand the good and bad in yourself and others, and grow emotionally and spiritually. Changes That Heal offers sound advice that helps you get the most out of your life, heal the wounds of your past, and build lasting, loving relationships.

The Invisible War, by Chip Ingram - led by Vickie Hill and Michelle Andrews.

Do you know that YOU are at war?? Join us as we take a biblical and balanced look at spiritual warfare. We will study what the bible says about who Satan is and the tactics he uses to attack God’s plan and his people. We will learn how to use the armor of God given in Ephesians 6 and cultivate invincible faith by understanding our VICTORIOUS position in Christ.

Prayer – led by Velda Frowine

This will not be a study about prayer, but it will be a practice in prayer! We will encourage one another as we practice the discipline of prayer throughout the week and invest our time together in praying and sharing how we are growing in prayer.

OASIS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Want to have an eternal impact on others’ lives? We need women who would love to serve the Lord, the women, and their children on Thursday mornings!

We want to provide a true Oasis for women and children on Thursday mornings: a fun, safe, and nurturing environment for children so they can experience the love of Christ through the caregivers and give the moms a much needed break where they can focus on their own spiritual needs.

If you would be willing to serve as a childcare provider on Thursday mornings, please email Jen Poppen, jpoppen@lakeforest.org.
