Summer Bible Study
A new Bible study for college-aged folks (18-23, including recent high school grads) meets every Sunday after the third service. Meet us at the home of Peter and Adrienne Austin (Henderson Park neighborhood, 7505 Henderson Park Road, Huntersville) at 12:30pm. We’ll hang out, get to know each other, and begin a study in Thessalonians. See you there!
For more information, please contact Peter at peteraustin@alumni.unc.edu.
20s Group Luncheon

Adopt a College Student
What do we mean? Well, at the beginning of every school year, Lake Forest Church Ministry Partners have the opportunity to “adopt” a local college student for the year. The goal is to pair a student with a local family, putting a name and face on the church and providing the student with a home-away-from-home family. Here are some quotes from past participants, describing their experience:
From The Andrews (Rusty, Michelle, Ryker, and Raegan) - Who adopted Chris Dunaway
We have been pleased to be part of the College adoption program the last two years. Chris Dunaway was readily embraced as an extended family member. My 10-year-old even took her “adopted big brother” to her classes show-and-tell class. We shared lunches, birthdays, and prayer requests with our “oldest son”. We were as proud as any parent to watch him graduate this spring. Rusty even got to drive him to the airport for his Europe sabbatical!
At Lake Forest I believe we have a special God-given gift of relationship with the Davidson students. It is a joy and a privilege to have an opportunity to share life with one of them in an intentional way. We look forward to signing up again!
From Chris Dunaway, recent Davidson graduate, adopted by the Andrews
Lake Forest is home. I thought the transition to college would leave me homeless, at least figuratively. But during the past four years, I have felt more at home in North Carolina than in my native Virginia. I owe much of that sentiment to Lake Forest, and particularly to my adopted family here. They have welcomed me into their family, not just by what they’ve done for me, but by how they’ve accepted me and embraced me into their lives. I am more grateful than I can express.
If you are a College Student and want to be adopted: Send an email to Pam Sharp with your name and a reliable phone number, plus any special requests (i.e. I know the XYZ family and would like to be adopted by them)
If you are a Ministry Partner and want to adopt a college student: Email Pam Sharp. If there is a specific student you are interested in, please note this in your email. If you already have an adopted student and will continue that adoption relationship, please indicate that in your email.
Babysitting Opportunities:
