The missions team has prayerfully selected these short-term trips. The safety and security of the team members has been considered with a great deal of importance. Because ministries that we partner with have successfully completed a number of trips with us and other churches, and because the security and safety issues are minimal, we feel these trips can be accomplished.

“Going on a short-term cross-cultural mission trip normally results in shifting a person’s spiritual growth into hyper-speed. It’s like spiritual growth on steroids, except in a good way. My goal is for every LFC Ministry Partner to eventually have this experience.”
~ Pastor Mike Moses

How can you join missioDei?

  1. Please begin seeking God’s direction as to what your contribution to these projects should be.
  2. If you are interested in going on any mission trip in 2009, please let us know by registering for the mission trips that you are interested in.
  3. Those who express an interest in finding out about one or more mission trips will be invited to attend an informational meeting on Sunday, January 11 at 1pm that will communicate the specific details, purpose and plan for the trips.
  4. Once you decide that you would like to serve on a summer short-term mission trip, please complete an application. Applications will be emailed to those who have expressed interest. Applications are due Sunday, February 1. Please mail or deliver applications to the Lake Forest Church office at 8519 Gilead Rd. Huntersville, NC 28078.
  5. Applications will be reviewed and mission teams will be formed for each trip by Sunday, February 15. The Trip Leader will call each team member to confirm their participation on the trip.
  6. A deposit of one-third the cost of the trip must be received by Sunday, February 22. The Missions Team expects that individuals participating in short-term missions will contribute at least 1/3 of the cost from their personal funds. This commitment of one’s own finances reinforces the fact that short-term missions should not be taken lightly and one should prepare for it as a serious investment of one’s prayers, time, and resources.
  7. Fundraising for the remaining 2/3 cost of the trip will be coordinated by the LFC Missions Ministry Team and short-term mission teams together.
  8. If you have questions about registration or the application process or fundraising, please contact the missions team at missions@lakeforest.org or Lindy Glass at lindy_glass@yahoo.com.
