Destination & Partnership

Lake Forest Church will be partnering with Children’s International Network (CIN) in a ministry involving homeless and orphaned children of Bolivia. This ministry, called Missions Extreme, takes place in Cochabamba, a city nestled in a high altitude region (8,390 ft.) of Bolivia, South America.

Objectives

Opportunities for service will exist within three main areas: medical care, construction projects, and street outreach. We will be holding screening clinics where doctors, nurses and team members can participate in various capacities. The team will also be involved in completing a building project. There will be opportunities for people with a construction or technical background, and also for people who enjoy working with their hands.
The team will also be ministering to the orphaned children’s spiritual and emotional needs. This will take place at the orphanage and at the plazas where teams will go out at night to minister to the street children.

For the Bolivia Life Center Orphanage:

  • Waterproof mattress covers for twin size beds (30 for younger boys/bed wetting; 45 more to control lice)
  • School supplies: markers, colored pencils, pencil bags, scissors, glue (elmers or stick), tape, staplers/staples, paper clips, backpacks, geometry sets (compass)
  • Puzzles for kindergarten-1st grade
  • Craft supplies of any kind for school projects
  • Scientific calculators (used or new) - for the oldest boys in the orphanage

Children’s International Network keeps their prayer requests online, go to www.cinonline.org. You can also make a donation or sponsor a child at the orphanage.
